Momstalk:SuchitraPillai

Her daughter, Annika, 1 year 6 months old, was given the Learning Home.

The toy came in a big box. As we were unwrapping the toy, Annika could make out that it was something meant for her. Her excitement knew no bounds. The overall colorful and glossy appearance of the toy itself was very appealing to her. At this age children generally tend to imitate and repeat things and my daughter is no exception. She kept opening the little door and the post box in the toy. The numbers, the color, the music – she was trying every bit of the toy. Being a mom, I was very happy that this toy actually grabbed the attention of my daughter. She was glued to it for a long time. I think this toy is apt for her age.

The size of the toy is quite large, so space is a constraint, but otherwise the toy is quite educative and interesting. also, the music and sound in the toy are not at all high pitched and irritating. So, good for both the mom and the daughter.

I personally think that it is always better to have one toy with multiple features rather than a clutter of many toys. At this age, children learn from toys, so as long as it does not have anything harmful and holds the attention of the child for a longer time, I am all for it.

a toy plays a very big role in a child's mental development. Toys stimulate the child's brain and help in self-discovery. I will always vote for toys as an indispensable part in a child's growing years.
